- To create awareness and enhance the knowledge on E-waste and its management among the students of Schools/Colleges a half-day workshop was organised on 27th Sept 2012 at Delhi Secretariat.
- For the campaign, Department of Environment conducted workshops including different target area including Hotels, Hospitals, Schools, Bilateral and Multilateral Institutions and Govt. Department.
- The E-waste market in Delhi is spread over different areas, each handling a different aspect of recycling. Majority of them are found in Turkman Gate, Mayapuri, Old Selampur, Mundaka, Mandoli, Kanti Nagar, Shastri Park, Karkarduma, etc.
- In order to address the problem, Govt. of Delhi decided to develop a systematic collection mechanism for e-waste.
- About 65 E-waste collection bins have been installed at identified places all over Delhi from where the authorized recyclers shall collect the e-waste for recycling etc. The places include: - Some schools, Government offices, Court complexes, NDMC civic centers etc.
